It is important to honor an American that spent his life working for his country. Tonly's dedication to his fellow citizens is evident in his work to free the hostages.

Tony was a legendary CIA officer and featured in our Argo exhibit as a pioneer in disguise and deception, and the leader of the “Canadian Caper,” which helped rescue six Americans from Tehran. He was also a founding member of the International Spy Museum’s Board of Directors and played an important role in shaping the us during our formative years.

Tony Mendez has made significant advancements in the intelligence world. Created much of the foundations that Intelligence agencies operate on today. However, the most notable reason is Tony Mendez never lost anyone on any of his covert exfiltration missions during his time at the CIA. Keeping people safe is one of the most important reasons that he should be considered for this honor. I know his friends and family would be incredibly proud to see his accomplishments be recognized in this way.

This would be a great way to honor my father. He truly loved Nevada. It is where we come to celebrate our family in live and afterwards. Our family roots in Nevada spread from Eureka, Goldfield, Tonaph, Sparks, Ely, Duckwater, Virginia City, Carson and Elko.
