Tony was from NV. Yet, his service to America shows he didn’t see borders, but rather broader opportunities to support his fellow citizens in need. He was a true American hero who deserves to be remembered. Naming a NV state park in his honor would be a beautiful tribute to where his story began.

Tony Mendez, a Nevada Born Patriot, should be honored for his lifetime of service to America.

Tony Mendez was a great American Hero. He was an incredibly talented and brilliant agent who really did put his life on the line for this nation! He was also my uncle and also helped me during a time of struggle in my life as well.

Tony is so inspiring to friends here in the DC area, and in Virginia, and all over the country. Nevada should name the new Park after Tony!

My grandfather Tony Mendez was one of the most humble heros. He instilled in me a love of nature and our surroundings and I think he would be truly greatful to have a beautiful piece of his birth state named in his honor. What a lovely sentiment.

My husband, Tony Mendez, was from Eureka, Nevada. He was a CIA officer, best known for the movie ARGO. He is buried in a small family plot in Nevada. Naming a park after Tony, would honor both him and Nevada, the state of his birth, and the unlikely place where he launched an outstandinbg career in the CIA, protecting the country that he loved.

The impact of Tony’s career could justify an entire state being named after him; a park will be a worthy first step!

In his incredible work for the US--what the public is aware of and what they will never know--Tony embodies the spirit of the state of Nevada: creative, entrepreneurial, bold, and rugged.

I was a career intelligence officer and spent over three decades serving the Nation. I also served as the Special Assistant to the President for Counterterrorism, alongside Drew Teitelbaum and have been the ED of the International Spy Museum in DC, an iconic Museum that tells the Tony Mendez story. I knew Tony and work closely with Jonna Mendez, a former CIA luminary as well. Recognizing Tony by naming a park in Nevada is an inspired choice and is well deserved. It honors Tony and Nevada.
