This would be a great way to honor my father. He truly loved Nevada. It is where we come to celebrate our family in live and afterwards. Our family roots in Nevada spread from Eureka, Goldfield, Tonaph, Sparks, Ely, Duckwater, Virginia City, Carson and Elko.

Tony was from NV. Yet, his service to America shows he didn’t see borders, but rather broader opportunities to support his fellow citizens in need. He was a true American hero who deserves to be remembered. Naming a NV state park in his honor would be a beautiful tribute to where his story began.

Tony Mendez was a great American Hero. He was an incredibly talented and brilliant agent who really did put his life on the line for this nation! He was also my uncle and also helped me during a time of struggle in my life as well.

Tony is so inspiring to friends here in the DC area, and in Virginia, and all over the country. Nevada should name the new Park after Tony!

My grandfather Tony Mendez was one of the most humble heros. He instilled in me a love of nature and our surroundings and I think he would be truly greatful to have a beautiful piece of his birth state named in his honor. What a lovely sentiment.

My husband, Tony Mendez, was from Eureka, Nevada. He was a CIA officer, best known for the movie ARGO. He is buried in a small family plot in Nevada. Naming a park after Tony, would honor both him and Nevada, the state of his birth, and the unlikely place where he launched an outstandinbg career in the CIA, protecting the country that he loved.
