I believe my brother Tony is a very
derserving hero who saved many lives around the world at his own risk for the CIA. He was a born in Nevada and would bring pride to the state to have a park carrying his name.

I strongly support naming Nevada State Park No. 28 in honor of Tony Mendez. A native Nevadan, Tony devoted his life to serving our country as a highly respected CIA officer. His courage, ingenuity, and leadership were exemplified by the “Canadian Caper,” which resulted in the daring rescue of six American diplomats from Iran and was later portrayed in the film Argo. Naming the park for Tony would honor a remarkable Nevadan.

Toni was awarded the prestigious CIA Trailblazer award in 1997 as one of only 50 individuals responsibility for the CIA’s success in the second half of the 20th century . Tony was the CIA‘s master of disguise and participated in untold by operations that saved lives and supported United States goals Internationally. I’m honored to support this initiative recognize Tony for his many contributions to the security of our nation.
