This is a fantastic idea. Living in Jefferson Park, you're surrounded by BIG arterial roads and highways. I-25, Federal, Speer, Colfax. Walking in any direction you are met with car-dominated, paved landscapes that are hot and dusty. My family and I would walk a loop or two around the stadium almost every day. It was the one place in the neighborhood where you could come in contact with public art, fitness equipment, open space and neighbors. A PARK IS A NATURAL FIT! I could write a book....

There is no need for more apartments in this neighborhood. It’s packed, games are shit to get to. I was born and raised in this area and a nice big green space would perfect. There’s not much down there other then apartments and railroads. Green space would be a nice change of pace.

I’m tired of seeing apt bldgs and businesses replacing important spaces. Part of the parking lot has already been taken over by a business bldg. Denver has become a concrete jungle. The community needs open space to enjoy their family, friends, pets. We are experiencing more heat. A tree filled park would be a good escape. Especially for those who can’t get to the mtns. They can easily get to this location. It would be nice to see the spot honor the people who inhabited the area centuries ago.

I live in Sloans Lake neighborhood and I think this would be a great "anchor" for that area. It would be convenient for multiple neighborhoods, to walk, and for people that want to visit by driving, being right off I-25.

This seems to make sense, but I want to learn what the City of Denver has in its plans. If affordable housing becomes an attractive and compatible element of this plan, I would voice my support more strongly. (I have lived on Mile High Stadium Circle more than a year.)
