We the undersigned ask the Town to keep the Paws in the Park off-leash program for dogs in Belmont.

Losing the use of this shared community space that fosters intergenerational friendships amongst neighbors would be a shame. The parks would sit nearly vacant on weekday mornings. Enforcing it would greatly reduce if not eliminate the concerns cited, and it would be much more cost effective than creating and maintaining a dog park or other enclosed dog spaces.

We the undersigned ask the Town to keep the Paws in the Park off-leash program for dogs in Belmont.

Belmont town parks are for everyone and the Off-leash dog program is an asset to the town in creating community and keeping the goose poop off the fields. Town government and officials should genuinely and effectively engage with the various groups who use town’s main parks to get input and ideas rather than throw the dogs off the grass. As a dog owner who has a current Paws in the Park tag, we are grateful to be part of the community and respectfully use the green spaces.
