Please do not close Serra school. It's more than a campus; it's a community where children feel safe, families are connected, and students receive an outstanding education. Many families and daycares rely on being able to walk to school, creating stronger relationships and a true neighborhood environment. Please protect this valuable school for current and future students.

I went to J. Serra as a kindergartener, then worked at J Serra for my first job as a paraeducator at 19 years old! Now my daughter attends J. Serra and we are heartbroken that future families may not have the same memories we have of J. Serra. It is a long standing school worth keeping!

We love Serra school! Our daughter has thrived there, and growing up around here, you hear nothing but great reviews from generations of families that went there.

This lovely school in my neighborhood is the whole reason I bought my Home on this side of town. My girls ride their bikes everyday. We love the office staff, the teachers and the principal. We are blessed to be at J Serra!

Junipero Serra is family. My stepsons found stability there during their parents’ divorce and transition from homeschooling, thanks to pivotal teachers. Now, our 9-year-old has attended since kindergarten, and our 7-year-old daughter with Down syndrome is bused there for her community of friends. Serra IS the family we cannot imagine leaving. Have we really exhausted every alternative before dismantling a community that serves generations of Ventura families? Keep Serra open!

Why close a school that has outstanding scores, strong community support and parental involvement. Keep Serra open!

I’m signing because anyone who doesn’t want to sign, supports the closing of a neighborhood and close knit community elementary school. Under no circumstances should that ever be recognized as a legitimate solution to remedy wasteful District spending. Those who mismanaged said funds should be held accountable to the highest degree of the law. How dare they punish our children and community by threatening to close our local elementary school. Shame.

J. Serra is the heart and soul of this neighborhood. We need to keep it open for generations to come. My daughter doesn't only have friends there, she's got family there now. She's bonded not only with her friends but her teachers and The LPCC after school program. It's part of her life and many more there. Please keep it open, you won't regret it.
