I don’t think our school should implement LockedIn because it gives the school too much control over our personal phones and raises serious privacy concerns. I understand the goal of reducing distractions, but there are better ways to enforce a phone policy without tracking students’ location or monitoring their personal devices.

I am concerned that LockedIn would allow a third party company, and possibly school personnel, to collect information about my child’s location, whether the phone is on or off campus, and whether it follows school restrictions. Because this data could reveal patterns about my child’s movements and behavior, I do not believe preventing classroom distractions justifies the privacy risks of monitoring a personal device.

This is an invasion of privacy and may adversely affect the safety and security of my children. We will not comply. My children will leave phones at home if this policy continues but I will not permit them to download the app. No phone use during school hours great but this is over the top. Focus on better education and teachers.

I don’t think we should download LockedIn because during an emergency, it could take too long to get access to my phone and take action. It also affects me mentally because knowing I can’t immediately contact my family if something happens makes me feel stressed and uncomfortable. I would rather be responsible for keeping my phone away and only using it when allowed.

Very uncomfortable with this during emergencies and also fear the geotracking and access to all the information that becomes available. And yes, I did read FAQ and still not comfortable with the answers. Leaving the phone at the office is also unrealistic. If students are not abiding by the rules, just keep the yonder pouches.

This is a breach of privacy that goes beyond school and poses a security risk due to the geo-tracking aspect of the app. Our kids are students, not criminals that need to be tracked all day.

It’s not that I really care about not being able to use my phone, but I think this is a foot in the door for the school to keep testing their limits with other nonsense like EHallPass or tracking outside of school
