Keeping live music in my community is important to me because music brings people together in a way few other things can. It creates places where neighbors can gather, relax, celebrate, and feel connected. Live music also gives local musicians a chance to share their talent and helps support the restaurants, venues, and small businesses that make our community unique.

Live music helps many, many people unwind after a very hard days or even after very hard weeks work! Some of us put in between 40 to 80 hours a week at our jobs, our careers and look forward to seeing live bands and listening to live music after our work week. To take that away would really be unfair to the hard working people out there in our communities.

There’s nothing wrong with listening to live music for 3 hours in the afternoon or evening, and it’s only 3 days of the week, at most. Doug is constantly maintaining the decibel level below 100 and I personally think that too low. If they put a stop to this then they’ll need to put a stop to everything that makes unnecessary noise in town. And on a side note, the dude literally asked the groove a few weeks ago to adjust the music schedule because they had a booking. They complied! All was good!

As a Delmar local, we love The Groove and all of the entertainment they offer. It’s the type of energy we enjoy and a place we feel welcomed. We always enjoy the live music as it adds to the enjoyment of being there and adds to the hometown feel. We recommend The Groove to so many people because of all these reasons. We support The Groove and live entertainment.

The Groove has been such a healthy outlet for our family. When our twins were around 4 months old, they went through a daily “witching period” that could last anywhere from one to three hours. The Groove’s music was the one thing that could consistently calm them and bring them peace.Beyond the music, the staff, atmosphere, and sense of community that The Groove creates are truly something special. It’s not just a place for music but a place of comfort, connection, and so many positive memories.

Music crosses generations and helps to bring them together. Live music is often too far away and too costly. Local music fills a need for the performer and the audience.

Live music is an art form that brings people together and contributes to the culture, energy, and sense of community that make Delmar special. While we respect the concerns of all local business owners, we hope the community can find a reasonable balance that allows residents and visitors to continue enjoying live music without imposing additional noise restrictions.

You can actually sit at a table and still talk to those sitting with you. We need this for Delmar! It’s such a great time and brings those in the community together. If you are going to pass something like this just remember… delmar racetrack is heard for miles away! Something that we have had since I can remember. It’s been ok for 60plus years and now we have to think of change for local bands that playing? Remember how many this law will effect. I vote NO!!

Live music adds to the economic health and culture of an area. The fact that Doug Marshall or anyone will spend as much as he does bringing in live music, which is a HUGE risk and investment for the town, should be commended and fostered.
I’ve played in a full four piece band there and the level are kept so low that many of my friends even remarked how nice it was to sit and listen to a band and still be able to have a conversation. Doug has a decibel meter on stage and is careful of volume.
