Edison Boat Club has been a gem to Detroit since 1914. The club has a long history of bringing families together and long lasting friendships. Because of its sailing program,students learn skills that allow students to learn sailing and make life long friendships. The club has been a mainstay for the sailing community.Let us all look forward to many more years of Edison Boat Club and stand up for its importance to continue in our community .

Edison is giving Detroiters access to the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair, and through those waterways to the Great Lakes. This is one of the greatest waterways in the world and every Michigander deserves access to it.

I have been a member of EBC for 40 some years and have seen hundreds of adults and juniors participate in the novice program. Many of them have continued sailing with their own boats and are better and safer sailors because of the EBC learn to sail program.

The learn to sail program was life-changing for me! Sailed with EBC in 2014 and 2015 at a very pivotal and challenging time for me. Sailing eventually led me to racing and my now husband— and 4 children! Learn to sail programs provide connections and experiences unique and important to our community!
