This is important as there have not been enought studies to prove that the data center is safe fory our environment or the people who live nearby. Nor have they proved that the data center will build their own pipelines or pay taxes like the citizens of Wayne County do. There has been no study regarding how the water tables, power grid, or wildlife (including our kids with 4-wheelers and buggies) will be affected. A moratorium will give our community time to evaluate the risks/benefits.

I’m a Jesup resident, and our city leaders must pause the proposed AI data center and any future AI project plans. These projects demand massive water and energy, offer almost no permanent jobs, and bring years of disruption. Jesup must protect its resources, environment, and way of life. I don't want a Data Center in our county. It will affect every aspect of our lives negatively. The Data Center will increase our utility bills because of a larger scale of usage of water and electricity. Also, it will kill or take our potable water and make it unusable. We've seen how Data Centers affect the environment in different countys or states.

It's not only the quality of life in danger to our community and those like myself that will live near it, but most people do not realize these data centers are made to take away your freedoms, they will manage your money in you accounts, turn off funds at will, and track your every move. Data centers are destroying aquifers all across the country, the noise levels are decibels above safe levels, the power consumption is greater than large cities, and the citizens are always the ones to pay the price. Construction jobs are the only real jobs they create and those are gone once it’s up and running, so it really isn’t a boon to the economy. The water is something we all need and our water is all connected. None of us can live without it.
