This is important to my grandson who attends this school. As a teacher I feel this is a reasonable ask.

Kids need to be able to gather what they need for their classes from their lockers between classes. Short passing time only forces more students to cram all their books in their backpacks and avoid their lockers just to save being tardy, but causing back problems from overly heavy bags or unprepared students in classes. As a former educator I understand what you’re trying to do but this isn’t the way to do it, this punishes an entire community and accomplishes nothing but resentment.

A three minute passing time is absurd! Teachers and staff practicing this without hallways full of students is a joke. As a former Anthony student myself, three minutes from the basement to the third floor is laughable. My son cannot bring a home lunch because he cannot make it from the basement to the third floor and back again. A four minute passing time is a plausible amount of time, there was no reason to fix what was not broken!! Punishing the mass for the actions of a few is disgraceful!

I totally agree bro. I was late on the first day because one of my classes was four floors apart from the other. I definitely think the tardy rule is nessacary, but also shortening the passing time is just cruel.

A 4 minute passing time within that building was utterly absurd. Reducing it to 3 minutes is ludicrous to the point that I genuinely struggled to believe that my child wasn’t pulling my leg when I heard that it had been reduced even further this year. Combined with the stress of tardiness penalties, I fail to see how this solution to the problem that it’s intended to solve isn’t unacceptably harmful to the students.
