At 8 months pregnant I had to wait 45mins to park when trying to take my 3 year old to A&E. I knew the maternity carpark was one in one out so if I got in I’d be able to park and concentrate on my son. I then had to carry him across the car parks, I was on nerve blockers for crippling sciatica. He had dangerously low oxygen levels and we nearly lost him. Thankfully after 3 weeks he came home. The parking situation is horrendous and now we’ve lost the top car park too.

The assumption that everyone can use public transport is utterly infuriating. Clinics at sites like the Horton have been cut and moved to the JR. If these services *have* to be moved then more parking should be provided... Otherwise bring the clinics (and the clinicians to run them) back to local medical sites around the county which are much easier and far less stressful to get to for all those who live outside of Oxford.

I've experienced severe difficulty parking multiple times at the JR, including when trying to visit family in A&E. Options to get to hospital from rural Oxon in realistic times require car travel.

Many many people need to drive to the JR for a wide range of reasons. Parking provision is atrocious and patients and visitors suffer.

The lack of parking not only tedious but also dangerous. Sick people arrive by car as well as ambulance and if they cannot find a place to leave their car it delays diagnosis and treatment.

Went to JR last week, for 6-weekly intra venous treatment for IBD, which is essential to keep me well and working. Drive round carparks for nearly an hour, and went home, without treatment.

It took me over an hour to find a parking spot in the car park just driving around in circles wasting fuel.

There is nothing worse that having to try catch a bus late at night after a shift. There are not many buses late evening so would like to be able to use my own car but cannot due to lack of parking at JR

Some elderly people cannot use buses, particularly when they need hospital care. Those who drive them in by car need to be sure there will be a parking space. Both the JR and the Churchill struggle in this regard.

The stress of trying to park, on occasion without success (!) makes attending appointments a nightmare. I have taken over two hours to find a space and more than once had to miss an appointment. I have also been charged for parking when I have been unable to do so. Travel by bus from my rural home is not an option, especially when feeling unwell

Seeing someone in a critical condition is stressful enough. Parking issues add unnecessary stress to extremely stressful situations. Getting a bus is not practical especially if you are ill and are not well enough to get a bus! I have experienced many difficult situations at the John Radcliffe ... all made worse by parking issues. The JR need to take a serious look to improve their parking situation for both staff and visitors

So so stressful when people are at their most vulnerable. The science parks get multi-storeys but a vital hospital doesn't? Ludicrous.

I'm disabled and can't walk very far, with my Rollator, so need disabled parking close to the Hospital. Going to the Hospital by bus is not possible.

The inability to properly access healthcare is a scandal. I've previously raised this with an Oxfordshire Councillor who said that they didn't want to encourage visitors. People go to hospitals for health reasons, not for the ambiance or the cake at the cafe. The lack of parking also increases pollution as people are continually driving around to find a space. Suggesting park and ride is not a solution when you're vomiting or can't walk.

The uncertainty of parking access cause every patient, and their family members, stress. Stress when they may already be going through the most stressful time of their lives. The daughter who couln’t park and didn’t get to her dying mother on time will live with this pain and guilt for the rest of her life. This is a serious human issue, not just an other Oxford transport issue to add to the pile.

Although living in High Wycombe I have had referrals to the Oxford Hospitals. Parking has never been easy but now it is so difficult at the JR I dread a referral to there particularly as I am an elderly lady with several different health issues which make using public transport almost impossible even more so when ill. Refusing the construction of additional parking shows lack of understanding of problems patients face.
