Every hospital visit is stressful and the current parking adds hugely to this, many cannot use public transport, the current availability of car parking spaces is completely inadequate. The advice to patients to allow plenty of time to park exacerbates the situation, arriving early resulting in each car taking a space for much longer than is actually needed, a better managed system is needed.

As if visiting hospital isn’t stressful enough, the woeful parking difficulties at the JR just make it 100 times worse. This needs to change.

You should be able to park easily at a hospital.

My son takes time off work to take me to the JR in case I cannot park. Public transport is not an option due to work and taking 2 hrs each way

The last thing you need when visiting a hospital whether as a patient or visitor is to not be able to park. It’s ok for the council to say use public transport but not everyone is on a suitable bus route and when one is feeling unwell it will be the last thing they need.

Travelling to JR and Churchill is a Nightmare. If I use the bus I need over 2 hours travel time both ways

Sometimes it’s pot luck if you get a space or not and potentially appointments will be missed

As a mother to be and with the JR being my local hospital the parking at night and during the day is awful. You can never find a space making you late for appointments

People that need to get to the hospital quickly often have mobility issues making other forms of transport impossible.

i had appointments at tbe JR and took me 45 mins to park.. unnecessary stress called when I was already dealing with health issues. public transport was not suitable and i should not be forced to use it.

I got my colonoscopy without sedation so I didn't have to make my husband park. Some procedures require patients get picked up by car! I know the council is worried about increased traffic but with all due respect: figure it out. Patients should be able to choose the pain relief option that suits them best without having to take into account parking.

Signing as someone who has to get the bus to JR, & wouldn't wish that pleasure on anyone. Hence the parking needs improving.

Child with autism who hates walking, people, smells and noise. I am happy to catch a bus if it's just me. There is always someone in a family for whatever reason needs to park onsite. It must be terrible for staff not being able to get a space before or after a long shift.

My wife has eye treatment regularly and needs to rest them. Public transport is hour and a half, carbis 40 mins. The time saved is important.

My husband has cancer and he needs his car for his appointment and I need to use a car to take him and pick him up to I’ll for public transport! Always a worry finding a space and not missing appointments so we leave an hour before appointment time only live 29 mins away so stressful!
