Parking is so stressful when taking our elderly parents, we have to park as they cannot manage a bus. They are disabled but there are never any disabled parking spaces available. We cannot even drop them off as last time my father fell over at the drop off!

recently spent 20 minutes looking for a spot for an 8 minute appointment and paid 2.20. couldn't use the bus for to illness but it would take over an hour each way anyway, we do this regularly at the moment. builders vans in car park slots as well. Not on.

Is disgraceful, as some who’s had to get there child to the JR in an emergency then not being able to get into the carpark or get parked.
It can be extremely distressing. Not everyone can get the bus to a hospital and it’s should not be expected of people!

I am 82, blue badge disabled and on my own. I have driven round in circles trying to park at the JR for my appointment. I cannot use the bus from Wantage.

Parking is an absolute nightmare. Rushing to visit a dying parent and nowhere to park does not help an already horrific situation.

Parent and baby spaces will be VITAL given the size of the maternity/womens unit. Getting out of the current spaces in labour at 40+ weeks pregnant is just not possible!!!!

Because the situation is insane, I had to drop my brother off and pick him up whilst his partner was in hospital during her birth and issues with their som after birth. One instance i was queued outside the car park, with 10s of other cars just stuck. Eventually I drove off and sat in my car on someones estate round the corner. Parking was expensive enough, which it shouldnt be, why should actually finding a space be so difficult as well.
Its not fair to assume everyone can use public transport.

Definitely need more carparking as there is not enough.
And as gps are doing less and not helping people are forced to hospital.
Bus journeys too slow and infrequent

I use the Horton or smaller sites like Witney & Chipping Norton where possible, but a choice was made to funnel so many services into the Headington sites, so the parking should match that, for those where public transport isn't suitable. This is likely a lot of people considering it's a Hospital, not a fun day out.

More often than not, when you go to the JR as a patient, you are in pain, stressed or frightened. Being able to go by car can sometimes make the journey easier than taking public transport which cannot always be relied upon, usually takes (a lot) longer and the timetable is not always convenient.

nobody wants to be there so make it as easy as possible to park, buses do not work if you need to park your car at a P&R then wait up to 20 minutes for bus 20/30 mins on the bus, so a 15 minute appointment could become an extra hour!
