I cannot drive my 88 year old disabled parents to hospital appointments as even blue badge parking is full. This forces us to use taxpayer-funded non- emergency hospital transport. This forces my frail parents already ill and in pain to get up extremely early to be ready hours before their appointments, to hang around for hours after their appointments, into old vehicles with NO suspension crashing in considerately over road humps and potholes leaving my Father injured afterwards.

Because unless you arrive very early in the morning you can never get a parking space at the JR within 15 mins

How are you actually meant to travel from an Oxfordshire village to medical treatment at the JR?
For instance, I have tried parking at Thornhill Park and Ride and taking the bus to the JR.
But the bus is only once every 30 minutes and goes to the JR via 3 hospitals with 20 bus stops on the way.
It is not feasible to expect people to spend 1.5 hours to get to an appt -
driving to P&R,
allowing enough time in traffic so as not to miss the bus, then sit on the bus for 40 mins min to get there.

My daughter had a long term condition that demands visits to JR regularly. Even if you arrive a whole one hour early to the appointment you will still not find any parking space and you end up missing you appointment or being late for it. The silly suggestion from the trust to allow plenty of time to park is literally a slap in the face and shows how detached these people are from reality because they don't ever have to go through this nonsense.

No direct bus from where I live; direct route blocked by LTN; if you're ill walking, cycling, bus may be impossible - so you drive and then can't find a space to park.

Any time I have had a hospital appointment the thought on the day of trying to get a space fills me with dread! I end up leaving well over an hour for when I get there to allow myself time to find a space. This doesn't help when you are working and have to travel there anyway and allowing yourself so much extra time for parking. For such a large teaching hospital this issue should have been dealt with years ago.

Parking is awful for staff and patients.

It is concerning that Oxford’s anti-car councillors are prioritising their ideology over the practical needs of staff, patients & visitors trying to reach hospital when they are at their most vulnerable & stressed. When someone is ill or you’re dropping off a family member in an emergency, or a NHS staff member who has done a back breaking 12 hour shift, being forced to use a bus or bike in the pouring rain is cruel. Increasing car parking provision would reduce queues and congestion.

Attending my son's appointments and having to allow an hour minimum for parking is atrocious. Making an already stressful and upsetting situation even worse.

The bus from Abingdon can be unreliable, and if I can get in, it usually takes a long time to get back home again. There are days I feel I can’t cope with this.

As a volunteer I see many patients both elderly as well as disabled, families with very poorly children coming into the JR with the added stress of not being able to find a parking space.

30 Min bus ride to Witney, then 90 min to the JR from Witney, same on return. My twice a year MRI is done quicker. I don't drive so relay on buses or my husband driving.

Use these hospitals a lot.
Park and ride just does not work.

This is important because sick people don't want/can't use the bus or cycle. Clinics shouldn't run late because people can't park and you shouldn't need to arrive an hour early for your appointment just to get a parking space

It’s stressful enough going to the hospital without having to allow at least an hour to find a parking space. Public transport is great but not suitable for all patients

Unable to use buses and need to drive in to Oxford from village 15 + miles away
