On a recent visit to the JR for urgent eye treatment my husband left me and went to park the car. One HOUR later he arrived and had had a devil of a time finding a parking space, ending in 2 arguments with other "parkers", and finally leaving our car on an ambulance bay, because of total lack of space. What is already a stressful situation becomes really frightful and even more stressful for all concerned.

I am in my 70's and because of various medical conditions I am unable to walk very far and so travelling by car is the only way I can attend Hospital appointments. Spending time driving round looking for a parking space can take up valuable time when I need to get to my appointment on time. Having more parking spaces made available would be wonderful .
People travelling to hospital are not out for a "Jolly" most of them are extremely anxious and could certainly do without the added stress.

Ill health and urgent appointments are stressful enough without running the gauntlet of desperately trying to find a space in overcrowded car parks.

Public transport is hopeless from rural towns and parking almost impossible at hospital (s)

As regular visitor to the JR with elderly relatives, I feel that a multi storey car park and improved access is essential. The ideal solution would be to scrap the JR and build it somewhere else with appropriate access but that's not going to happen and instead they are continuing to add to the already sprawling site, and increase the number of visitors.

I dread the thought of appointments. From the Wantage area it is a long way to drive and then to find no car space! Soon it will have to be by taxi as there are no buses from my village.

Trying to find parking should not be an additional subject of stress when visiting a patient or even being a patient!

Always a nightmare to find a space when taking my elderly mother for appointments. Current facilities are not fit for purpose.

Parking at these hospitals is the worst I have ever seen, it’s almost impossible to find a spot. Once, at the Churchill, where I had to attend as I was involved in a university test, there were no spaces so I decided I just had to miss it and go home - I rang and told them and was told to park in the staff car park and they would cover any penalties if I was ticketed. This situation is dreadful, especially if you travel from outside Oxford city and there is no easy public transport for you.

Parking at the JR & the Churchill is such a nightmare. It takes so long to find a space. At the JR in particular the lack of spaces means you find people parking at the end of rows & in spaces which are really supposed to be left for access. It is especially difficult if you are taking someone to an appointment. 99% of the time means that you have to drop them off in the designated drop off area (which is usually very full) and then have to leave them for up to 40 minutes whilst you patkyjrvf

I had an appointment at the Churchill, was happy to go on my own, but my husband decided to come with me. Good job he did, couldn't find anywhere to park even after driving around for 35 minutes (good for the planet) I had to leave him in the car to go for my appointment, he just had to sit in the car in the car park hoping a space became free, it didnt, otherwise I would have missed my appointment and wasted the hospitals time and start the process of seeing the specialist again!

My son had to walk across the site to the fracture clinic on a broken foot. I have had to carry children to a and e when they were early teens.
