You want to he in and out of hospital as quickly as possible. If you have treatment etc you don't always want to wait and travel on buses you want yo get in your car and drive home. Unless the bus goes direct to P&R without stopping everywhere on route.

I rarely go to the JR but, when I have, parking is rather difficult. I am mobile but, as that decreases with age, I will be more reliant on parking spaces.

It such a pain if I have an appointment to plan bus journeys and parking is a nightmare with people jumping in front of you when you have been waiting for a space for quite some time. If you are unwell the last thing you want to do is go on several buses that takes a long time. Also visiting someone is not easy as at visiting times the car parks are full.

I often take a disabled person to the hospital and the disabled parking is insufficient. We try to arrive at least an hour early to find a space.

I often come up to Jr with my mum who even with a blue badge and there are still no spaces . It's terrible . So I have had to drive round and round to find somewhere and usually end up in a normal parking space after a long time looking, where we struggle to get mum out as not 3nough to open door wide enough to get her out into a wheelchair . I dread coming up there because if parking. I've said they should put a large multistorey car park for years . .

As it is so difficult to find a parking space I drop my wife off so that she can be on time for her appointment. I then I park on a near by road away from the hospital so as not to occupy a space that someone may need.

I completely agree with Eliabeth Murray: "It’s shocking that there is not enough parking at hospitals & elderly, infirm & ill people are expected struggle on a bus to get necessary medical help. The suggestion those people can cycle or walk as an alternative is frankly preposterous." Building a multi-level car park would solve SO many difficulties for staff, workers, patients and visitors. But this is refused based on biased, destructive anti-car zealotry! No insight, no compassion, no empathy.

I am often visiting the JR, either to visit inpatients or to help transport those who are unable to get there any other way. It is always a lottery to know whether one car park or not. Most of those I'm helping are either elderly or disabled and so park and ride is not solution for them. Sometimes it takes ages waiting for a space or cruising round until someone leaves.

I have had to go unattended to two quite serious hospital appointments as my partner had to stay with the car due to no spaces. And no I can't get the bus due to my disability. We were both really distressed by the whole situation. Increased blue badge spaces wont help given it's a hospital and there are increased number of users.

Because I am well aware of the problems of parking anywhere in Oxford! However, for the hospitals, it is even worse. I used to work at the JR Hospital & there is no longer "rush hour" traffic but "rush HOURS"!!! There is barely a time of day when there isn't heavy traffic going in and out! The JR Hospital in particular is a regional specialist hospital! They see all kinds of cases from all over the country& you can't expect patients to have to deal with access to the Hospital the way it is!

It's obvious! People need to get themselves/their loved ones to hospital as quickly as possible in a car rather than take the bus!

It’s shocking that there is not enough parking at hospitals & elderly, infirm & ill people are expected struggle on a bus to get necessary medical help. The suggestion those people can cycle or walk as an alternative is frankly preposterous. The existing parking could easily be doubled by putting a floor on top. We need to get rid of councillors who are simple minded and can’t think through the ramifications for all those involved because they have an anti car agenda.

No idea why they couldn’t build the existing two storey parking higher, especially as the nearby blocks of flats in ivy lane are much higher. I was told it blocked by rich residents in Old headington!

Public transport is not always an option when visiting the hospital, some are hours long or just not practical depending on why you are attending. Parking is important to ensure easy, practical and on time attendance to appointments

Frequent visitor post cancer surgery. Blue badge. Arrived well over 1 hour pre appointment. Parked safely, in desperation, behind yellow lines. Fined

I am mobility impaired -- it is hard to get to the hospital by bus, and there aren't enough parking spaces.

Because the 700 bus is unreliable for anything except journeys back to Summertown from the JR. Forget the Churchill or the Nuffield journey times! When I go, (often, to all 3) I have to ask a friend to drive me, as it can take so long to park, I would always be late for my appointment.
