We call for the immediate removal of Smangele Shezi from her position because her conduct has damaged trust, weakened unity, and created division in the women’s league.
Our community cannot move forward when leadership is treated with arrogance and when proper leadership is not recognised. The women’s league should be a space of respect, cooperation, and clear communication, but instead communication between the mother body and the women’s league has been blocked, and the relationship between the two has been undermined. That kind of breakdown hurts everyone who depends on stable leadership and shared purpose.
We are also deeply concerned that the women’s league leadership has not been respected, and that a public declaration was made saying the women’s league is not recognised. Such an approach only deepens confusion and division. It weakens the work of the league and makes it harder for members to stand together and serve their communities effectively.
We therefore ask for the immediate removal of Smangele Shezi and for steps to restore respect, proper communication, and unity within the women’s league and between the women’s league and the mother body. Leadership must be accountable to the people it serves, and it must build the organisation up, not pull it apart.
