While I recognize the difficult financial decisions facing every school district, balancing a budget should never come at the expense of our most vulnerable students.

Two of my grandchildren benefit from these services. Their parents pay property taxes. On August 18, you will consider potential property tax increases to recover funding. Why should their taxes “potentially” increase for services their children may not or will not receive? Cuts in funding in other areas, to make equal educational opportunity for all students, is more appropriate than blocking critical needs for Special Education Services. Please reconsider this unbalanced approach.
