Because meeting children’s needs when they are developing is crucial for lifelong success. You miss these windows of opportunity to help them or if only meet some of their needs; children suffer lifetime consequences of our incompetence. We can do better with our priorities.

My daughter reaches May Utah Ststd in the special education. She is so frustrated with the lack of funding for kids. In today’s world there are more kids diagnosed every year. I have 5 of 8 out of 15 grandchildren needing services. It would be tragic if they could not get the help they need.
Do not let our most vulnerable get left behind.

Cutting Special education school staff without looking at the full picture leaves teachers overwhelmed and families struggling. It's a short-sighted move, and our most vulnerable students are always hit the hardest. Before making cuts that harm our classrooms, the district needs to pause, look at real data, and exhaust every alternative funding option. Our kids deserve better than guesswork.

I worked at Hartvigsen for almost 10 years and these students need more help than main stream students. Some students need one on one attention and there is often only 4 staff to 12 students. It is a physically demanding and emotionally draining job.

My son is autistic and my three other kids all had IEPs for Special Education. These programs never have enough funding. To cut funding even more would leave these children without supports and resources they desperately need.

Children in special education need adequate resources. I am a pediatrician and I see families struggling when this is not available

All kids, but especially special needs kids deserve services that meet their individual needs. Early intervention and consistent support means the world to these kids and their families. I would like to do whatever possible to bridge the gap for these kids and get them the help they need. Thank you

As a parent of two kids that had 504’s and IEP’s it is not fair the cut services for those that need it the most or to overload teachers with more work to save a buck! The parents with special needs kids also pay taxes and speaks a lot of their own money for services outside the school district. Let’s give these parents a hand and allow the SPED staff to do their wonderful job without added frustration of more case files per teacher.
