I am asking for your support after being left with a 10,000 NOK invoice from Finanstilsynet because of what appears to be an administrative failure during my attempted registration as a MoneyGram agent.
What happened?
- In late 2025, MoneyGram contacted me about becoming an agent.
- Before the registration process was completed, I decided not to proceed.
- In December 2025, I requested that my registration be cancelled immediately.
- MoneyGram confirmed that it had been cancelled.
- In February 2026, I contacted them again to make absolutely sure.
- Once again, I was told that my registration had been cancelled and that I would not receive any invoice.
Because of those confirmations, I believed the matter was closed.
However, months later I received a 10,000 NOK fee from Finanstilsynet because my business was apparently still registered until June 2026.
During this entire period:
- I never received a MoneyGram terminal.
- I never received equipment.
- I never received training.
- I never received signs or marketing materials.
- I never carried out a single MoneyGram transaction.
- There was never any MoneyGram service operating from my business.
Despite this, I have been left with the financial consequences.
I also have written documentation showing that I requested cancellation and that I was informed—twice—that the registration had already been terminated.
What we are asking for
We respectfully ask MoneyGram to:
- Accept responsibility if their administrative handling caused this fee.
- Reimburse the 10,000 NOK invoice issued by Finanstilsynet if the fee resulted from their failure to process my cancellation correctly.
- Review their internal procedures so that no other business experiences the same situation.
This petition is not about attacking a company.
It is about accountability, trust, and treating business partners fairly.
If a company confirms that a registration has been cancelled, business owners should be able to rely on that confirmation without later receiving unexpected regulatory fees.
If you believe companies should stand behind their own administrative decisions and resolve situations like this fairly, please sign this petition and share it with others.
Thank you for your support.
