Earlier, the guidelines to test for the department were loosened. Now we have weak people working which makes the ones on call, do more than their fair share. Cutting personnel will make it even harder to get the work done. This can actually backfire on the department when their backbone workers start getting injuries due to heavier lifts and harder calls due to staff cuts.

As a paramedic I spent a a great amount of time on clinicals with these crews. You have some of the best Parmedic's and EMT's in all the Metroplex, however the call volume is one of the busiest and most overwhelming in the area. I'm worried if these men and women don't receive the resources they need to do their job to the best of their ability and a living wage I am afraid they will just leave and the city will be at a loss which will make call volume and response times even worse for the city.
