In the 1960s Norman annexed what we now know as rural east Norman for the purpose of preserving our water supply, our natural resources, and making sure these lands never became a developed "City." It is vital that we continue to protect rural east Norman against ever encroaching, harmful efforts at mass suburban development and megaprojects such as turnpikes and data centers.

If our city government doesn’t act decisively and rapidly on this critical issue, our water, soil, crops, and right to sustain ourselves in a clean, natural environment are in serious jeopardy.
