Dear Lead Foot City Management and Event Organizers,

As dedicated members of the local automotive community, we want to start by thanking you for providing a venue for drifting. Lead Foot City has the potential to be the premier drifting hub in the region, and we want to help the events grow, run smoother, and become more profitable for everyone involved.

Currently, the "open grid" format poses scheduling challenges for drivers, spectators, media, and vendors alike. We respectfully propose transitioning to a structured Class/Run Group system (A Class for Advanced, B Class for Intermediate, C Class for Beginners).

Implementing this structure offers massive benefits across the board:

1. For the Drivers: Maximum Efficiency, Fairness, and Skill Progression

• A Class (Advanced): These drivers complete laps efficiently, using nearly half the track time per car due to consistancy, speed, and multi-car tandems. Allowing a rapid succession of cars moving onto track. An exclusive A Class group creates a safe environment where skilled drivers can confidently drift at a highly advanced level with other highly skilled drivers. Providing confidence knowing everyone has the car control to keep it safe, and moving efficiently.
• B Class (Intermediate): This crucial middle group is for drivers who have mastered solo laps and are starting to practice low-stakes tandems or close-proximity driving. Separating them ensures they aren't held up by beginner drivers spinning out, This will also prevent instances where highly skilled highly modified cars are over powering intermediate drivers that do not match the level of the Advanced A class drivers.
• C Class (Beginners) & The 80/20 Rule: In drifting, the "80/20 rule" is highly visible—roughly 80% of drivers at any given event are new or inexperienced, and only about 20% stick with the sport long enough to make it to A Class. Currently, because of grid inefficiency, these C Class drivers get very little actual seat time, which discourages them from continuing. Providing a set amount of time for C-class drivers to run back to back runs while consistently working on improving theirs skills, will help encourage them as they get better through the event.
• A Win-Win for All Skill Levels: Under an open grid, advanced drivers get frustrated waiting behind frequent spin-outs, while beginners get discouraged by massive wait times in a large lines. By splitting these groups up, C Class drivers get fewer cars in their grid at one time, resulting in faster turnarounds and more seat time to actually learn. B class drivers are able to improve their skills without potential accidents when failing to maintain consistancy. While A class driver will be able to confidently get on track without fear of an inexperienced driver causing a major accident. Turn more laps and enjoy the sport that they have invested massive amounts of time and money to achieve a high level driving experience.

2. For the Spectators & Families: A Better Fan Experience

• Predictable Scheduling: The schedule can be displayed on the days leading up to the event, allowing individuals to plan, and organize their day around their driving times.
• Family-Friendly Freedom: With designated heats, families will know exactly when the classes they want to watch are hitting the track. During other heats, they can step away from the bleachers to explore the rest of the Lead Foot City facility without the fear of missing the action. Currently friends and family members wait hours at the bleachers watching drivers of various levels do laps all to see their favorite drivers do a hand full of laps.

3. For the Facility & Vendors: Predictable Crowds & Higher Revenue

• Structured Foot Traffic: When spectators know the schedule, they will utilize the downtime between their favorite heats to visit food trucks and merchandise vendors.
• Vendor Relief & Driver Retention: Instead of a chaotic trickle, vendors will experience predictable waves of traffic (e.g., during C Class heats or changeovers). Furthermore, by giving beginners a better experience, you ensure that the 80% of new drivers keep coming back and paying gate/registration fees.

4. For Media & Track Photographers: Better Content

• Resource Management: Photographers and videographers can strategically plan when to be trackside. They can conserve drone batteries and camera storage for the high-action A Class tandems, resulting in higher-quality media coverage that ultimately promotes Lead Foot City across social platforms.

We love racing at Lead Foot City and want to see these events thrive. By implementing a strictly enforced run group system, you will increase driver satisfaction across all skill levels, improve spectator retention, boost vendor sales, and elevate the overall professionalism of the track.
