This appears to have been an outrageous abuse of power by a police officer, and serious animal abuse. The officer, Trenton Garner, has exhibited a lack of judgement and discernment in this situation. He should be fired and banned from any sort of police work. He should also be made to surrender any firearms he personally owns and not be permitted gun ownership in the future.

He had no business trespassing, then to kill an innocent donkey not much bigger than a dog with no threat to him. He needs to be charged to the full extent of the law.

This is a dangerous person carrying a gun! He is not responsible enough to protect and serve the public he is sworn to do

I truly believe that he should be held accountable for his actions and be stripped of everything he has and not be able to work in law enforcement again and heehaw was in his own pasture and he was just wanting to be loved on and curious about what they were and also they had no right at all going on the property without notifying the owners first he was just a baby and couldn't hurt anything

I support police 100%,. But this is seriously uncalled for. Especially being a k9 officer, he should know how to handle all types of animals.

Because a miniature young donkey is not going to charge anyone . They just want a hug or a treat. They love to be petted.
No excuse why he would kill an innocent baby donkey.

This officer should no longer have a badge if he can't decipher between an imminent threat and a baby donkey.

I’m a retired police supervisor and I find this incident extremely disturbing and uncalled for. This person should never be in possession of a gun if he lacks that small amount of discretion. I also question why the property owners weren’t notified before police entered the property?!

This is unacceptable. A non-threatening baby donkey was killed for no reason. A loved pet. Terrible conduct by this person.
