Demand Public Takeover Before Liberty Rates Increase

Liberty Waters is charging exorbitant rates and their excuses don't make sense when other residents from other towns pay so little for water. It's time to give us the same treatment as other neighboring towns treat their residents. We're being milked to the point where enough is enough. There was a time when water was free!!!! Our high taxes should be covering the expense to maintain decent water and delivery.

Our rates are off the charts! Each neighbor pays a vastly different amount. Our water is brown or golden most of the time. It is disgusting and outrageous. The time for change is now.

Liberty Water Bill has been not erratic to say the least (ranging from over $300 to $80 within a few month span) and does not seem to indicate accurately the water use in my household nor does it indicate water use during different seasons. Water use per household should not change drastically month to month. No reasonable explanations have been offered by Liberty. Water should not be tied to Nassau County taxes or administration.

It is honestly absurd how a private company has been allowed to operate a public utility. I currently pay almost as much for water as I do for gas and electric, while others on the island with similar usage pay a mere fraction of what I pay.

The water rates are high and keep getting higher. The water is polluted with toxic materials that require you to buy a whole house filtration system if you want to live a long cancer-free life. Have the public take over. Get rid of for-profit utilities.
