I sat in on all the meetings. This was rushed through More transparency needed. I recorded the 07-09 charter. Took over a year. Not a few weeks. The president of the city council was against a four year term as another former city council member. They should be listened too. A two year term gives the peopleba voice. A four year term takes away our voice. This charter needs to go back to committee for changes that are good for the people. Not the mayor

The lack of full transparency, mutating the process without fair representation of all citizen interests and voices, and ignoring historical debate by members of your own party as to why a 4yr term is senseless and gives power to the administration without the ability for the citizenry to check and balance that power all speaks for itself. As a native of Danbury and bearing witness to many corrupt administrations I wholeheartedly object to the passage of this revision.

The revised charter puts too much power into the hands of a single person, the mayor of Danbury. In a small town like Danbury, where there is not very much transparency within the government, we need checks and balances to ensure that no single person can make important decisions pertaining to finance, hiring, education, etc., without oversight and accountability.
