I strongly support this request for a Traffic Engineering review of the Copeland Ave & Copeland Pl intersection. This area is heavily used by pedestrians, including children walking to Franklin Elementary, yet lacks the infrastructure needed to provide a safe and accessible crossing. A formal evaluation will help ensure that both current conditions and future development impacts are properly assessed so the intersection remains safe and functional for residents, pedestrians, and vehicles.

Children should feel safe walking to and from school.

This not only will clog a corridor, it has NO sidewalks is a blind corner and is used by MANY elementary school students in my neighborhood of Kensington to go to Franklin Elementary 1 block away. Our infrastructure simply does not support 4 more residences and the cars they will bring onto Madison Avenue and Copeland. Also it will congest a VERY tight area and will contribute to erasing the historical attributes of the Kensington area. This neighborhood is NOT set up multi family homes. PLEASE!

I regularly walk around this corner as I live near Copeland and Meade. Not having a safe sidewalk means that my dog and I have to be in the street. Frequently, I have had to dodge cars from both directions. This narrow corner is much more akin to an alley than a street, but as an access route to and from Franklin Elementary it experiences much more traffic than it is designed for.

This project does not fit with the community, there is an illegal business operating on the residential property, and it would also require chopping down a tree that is older than all of us.

My wife and I walk here often and have to walk in the street to turn the corner due to the lack of a continuous sidewalk.

I loving going on neighborhood walks with my mom and I’m concerned about the walking safety. I’m also worried about the very nearby school and children’s safety. Also car accidents increasing and cars hitting pedestrians

Oh what an important initiative! This corner has been a big problem. The visibility is poor, the sidewalks stop existing at a point, and large utility vehicles like the 3 weekly Trash pickups already have to maneuver around it with complications. I would love to see this made safer. We have an elementary school a block away and the street gets lots of traffic from cars as well as bikes and pedestrians with little kids and parents trying to find parking and also navigating drop offs.

Huge safety concern at that corner especially when children are walking to school. Need a traffic study.

The street currently has a 90 degree turn between Copeland place and drive. Trucks and cars have a difficult time making the turn or observing the children playing. The cars parking behind the proposed car ports will be parked in the street just like the 42 nd St ally. This ends up in a dangerous situation. We have had one child killed and others hit on this side of Adams in Kensington. Cars drive too fast and 25 mile per hour speed limit should be reduced.

This corner desperately needs a continous sidewalk. Unsafe for everyone. Its 1 block from Franklin Elementary School.

This corner is very “tight”. It can be challenging for a regular sized vehicle to maneuver between parked cars when taking the turn. Due to the “right angle” the turn is somewhat “blind”
