This letter is to show the community support for Maria Fernanda Valverde Guereca. We understand that Ms. Valverde Guereca is seeking the opportunity to remain in Canada permanently. We also understand that a negative decision in her matter could require her to leave Canada and separate from the life, relationships, education, work history, and personal foundation she has built here.
We respectfully ask Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to consider her circumstances with compassion, fairness, and a full appreciation of the meaningful establishment she has developed in Canada.
This petition reflects the collective voice of individuals who have come to know Ms. Valverde Guereca as a responsible, respectful, hardworking, and sincere person. She is not simply someone who has spent time in Canada. She is a young woman who has made genuine efforts to study, work, integrate, and contribute in meaningful ways. Her presence in Canada represents several years of personal effort, adjustment, and commitment. She has built her adult life with the hope of stability, independence, and continued contribution to Canadian society.
While Ms. Valverde Guereca is a citizen of Mexico, she has lived, studied, and worked in Canada for several years. Her residence has been primarily in Alberta, where she has developed important personal and community ties. Her life in Canada has not been passive or temporary in character. Rather, she has actively taken steps to establish herself through education, employment, responsibility, and participation in the communities around her.
Maria’s educational background shows that she is a motivated individual who values learning, discipline, and self-improvement. Her work history in Canada further demonstrates her character and adaptability. Ms. Valverde Guereca has demonstrated that she is employable, capable, and willing to support herself through honest work. Her employment history reflects a person who is not seeking to depend on others, but who wants to continue building a stable and productive life through her own efforts. She has shown initiative and resilience by moving through different positions, developing practical skills, and continuing to look toward a more secure future.
Those who know Ms. Valverde Guereca recognize her as a person of good character. She is respectful, dependable, polite, and considerate. She carries herself with maturity and dignity. She has faced uncertainty in her immigration situation, but she has continued to conduct herself responsibly and with hope. It is also important to recognize that Ms. Valverde Guereca has built her life in Canada during an important stage of adulthood. These years have shaped her education, her friendships, her professional development, and her sense of belonging. Requiring her to leave Canada would not be a minor interruption. It would separate her from the stability she has worked hard to create and would force her to restart her life in circumstances that would be uncertain and difficult.
For Ms. Valverde Guereca, Canada has become the place where she has pursued education, gained employment experience, developed independence, and formed a practical foundation for her future. Her establishment here is real and deserving of consideration. Granting her permanent residence would allow her to continue that path with security and dignity.
A return to Mexico would create significant hardship for Ms. Valverde Guereca. She would be required to leave behind the Canadian education and work experience she has built, the support system she has formed, and the future she has been trying to create in Edmonton. She would face the difficult task of re-establishing herself after having spent important years building her adult life in Canada. This would be emotionally and practically disruptive. It would affect her stability, her employment prospects, and her ability to continue the progress she has made.
Humanitarian and compassionate consideration exists to recognize circumstances where strict application of the ordinary rules may result in hardship that is disproportionate when weighed against the person’s establishment, character, efforts, and human circumstances. In Ms. Valverde Guereca’s case, we believe those factors strongly support allowing her to remain in Canada. She has demonstrated that she can contribute to Canadian society, that she values stability, and that she is prepared to continue building a responsible and productive life.
As members of her community, we believe that Ms. Valverde Guereca is the type of person Canada should encourage and support. She is hardworking, adaptable, respectful, and sincere. She has already invested in Canada through her studies, her work, and her personal efforts. With permanent residence, she would be able to continue contributing with greater security, confidence, and long-term planning. She would be able to pursue stable employment, continue strengthening her skills, and remain connected to the community that has become part of her life.
We respectfully ask the decision-maker to consider not only the formal details of her application, but also the human reality behind it. Ms. Valverde Guereca has built a meaningful life in Canada. She has made real efforts to establish herself. She has shown that she is capable of contributing positively. She has formed ties in Alberta and has demonstrated resilience, discipline, and responsibility. Requiring her to leave would cause a serious personal setback and would deprive this community of someone who has shown strong potential for continued contribution.
For these reasons, we respectfully support Ms. Maria Fernanda Valverde Guereca’s application for permanent residence based on humanitarian and compassionate considerations. We sincerely believe that allowing her to remain in Canada would be a fair, compassionate, and reasonable outcome. It would recognize her establishment, her efforts, her character, and the meaningful future she is continuing to build here.
We thank you for your time, consideration, and careful review of this matter.

Fernanda is a kind, genuine, and adaptable person. Although we come from different cultures, she always made everyone feel welcome and included. During our time in college, she consistently followed the rules and treated everyone with respect. I have always known her to be a person of integrity who positively impacts those around her.

Fernanda was my classmate at Norquest. She is kind, friendly and hard working. She worked in the old age facility while studying at the same time. She was so caring and loving. I wish her the best.
