We are calling on the resignation of CICC Director Aya Macalma and Executive Director Undersecretary Aboy Paraiso because their decisions have shown a level of incompetence that is harming thousands of people and their livelihood.

Blocking Discord and Reddit has had real consequences for communities that rely on these platforms to work, communicate, organize, and earn a living. For many people, these are not just places to scroll and chat. They are tools for business, freelance work, support networks, news, and everyday connection. When access is cut off, people lose opportunities, customers, and the ability to stay connected to the spaces that help them get by.

We do not accept leadership that makes sweeping decisions without regard for the people who will bear the cost. The public deserves leaders who understand the impact of their actions, who think carefully before restricting access, and who put the welfare of ordinary people first.

We therefore call for the immediate resignation of CICC Director Aya Macalma and Executive Director Undersecretary Aboy Paraiso. We also call on the CICC to reverse harmful blocking measures and to make sure that future decisions are guided by transparency, accountability, and respect for the people affected.

Those in public office must serve the public good. When they fail that duty and cause widespread harm, they should step aside.
