We call on Sorael to bring back the elder role and restore the old role set that many of us remember as part of what made the community feel grounded and welcoming.

The elder role was more than just a label. It gave people a sense of place, continuity, and respect. It helped the space feel familiar and cared for. Many of us saw it as one of the original, “OG” parts of Sorael, and losing it has made the newer roles feel less appealing and less fitting for the community as a whole.

The new roles may have been added with good intentions, but for many members they do not carry the same warmth or character. They feel less natural, less meaningful, and less in tune with what people valued before. When a community changes too fast, it can lose the simple things that made people want to stay and take part. Bringing back the elder role would be a clear way to show that Sorael still listens to its members and cares about preserving what worked.

We are asking for the return of the elder role, and for a serious look at restoring the older role structure that people found so nice, so recognizable, and so much more fitting than what replaced it. The community deserves roles that feel welcoming, trusted, and true to Sorael’s best traditions.
