Lidl is very much needed by all of us. There will be new jobs, and people from nearby towns who go shopping in Aberystwyth and Carmarthen will simply come to us, which will also drive local trade. It is nonsense for some official from Carmarthen County Council to say that it will destroy our local trade, and I think it will be the other way around. At the moment, Lampeter is a dying town.

As a fostercarer it its to hard to go to carmarthen or cardigan i need somthing that is cost effective and easier to get to. Most of the time the shops in town don't even have what we need and if they do there to expensive.

Correctly I travel to Carmarthen to shop in Lidl as there is only one small supermarket )Sainsbury's) which fails to cater for my needs and is too expensive. The Co-op is a convenience store with prices greater than Waitrose. The salaries in West Wales cannot support these prices. The independent shops fail to support full time workers with their poor opening hours so I am forced to travel to Carmarthen. Having a local Lidl would attract people into Lampeter and create much needed competition.

We desperately need this supermarket, co-op and sainsbury are to expensive, shelves are frequently empty and not alot of choice. It would also bring employment opportunities.

Living on a state pension I can't afford Sainsburys & Coops prices. Lampeter is my nearest town, and yet I have to either pay for Asda deliveries, or drive to Aberystwyth or Carmarthen to access the better prices, which on a full shop and even at the price of petrol now still works out cheaper.

The cost of groceries in Lampeter and the surrounding area is extremely high. To get reasonably priced produce you need to travel approx 40 minutes which not all of us are able to do. Also Lampeter needs to attract more shoppers to the town as local businesses are suffering from lack of foot fall.

Lampeter only has two small dear supermarkets with limited choice. Most people travelling to Carmarthen would stay and shop in Lampeter if there was somewhere decent to shop. Would bring in others from outside the town to also shop. Would not affect high St as no food shops there

Lampeter desperately needs a decent priced supermarket to save people travelling to bigger towns as the current offerings are out of their budgets
