I would be interested to hear any reasons for not opening them up to both ways again.

The traffic conditions have changed dramatically since the intersection at Canning and Stirling changed.

I live at 100 King Street, East Fremantle. The increase in traffic has been ridiculous and the “speed bump” outside 102 King Street does absolutely nothing for speeding vehicles. We have had 2 accidents on this side of King street in the last 2 years with a neighbours car written off and another neighbours wall damaged. I am concerned about my primary school child walking to school up Marmion Street and crossing over the side streets with driver zooming across Marmion Street when they find a gap

I live in King Street and have been here for 25 years. The street has become ridiculously busy and unsafe, cars speeding even with the speed humps and parked cars being hit.

King Street is the busiest thoroughfare to George Street and has been extremely dangerous. Many accidents have occurred including my car, two neighbours had their mirrors taken out and another was rear ended.
It was a decision to close both Sewell and Hubble back in the 80’s so it is well overdue to be opened up.
Also the to “George St” brown signage must be removed at both ends of King Street. Why is there none on any other Streets?
The East Fremantle council must action this urgently!

King st is bearing way too much of the traffic load. Have witnessed 2 side mirrors being smashed off over the past few months. People need to slow down. Lots of young families and pets on the street.

For 30 years we put up with excessive car, truck and oversized vehicle traffic along King St in what is a very narrow road made for cars and bikes only. King street has never been able to handle the traffic which is now overwhelmed with vehicle traffic day and night. It is about time that this issue is acknowledged by the Town of East Fremantle, it’s decision makers and action is taken to reduce use of this street as a rat run.

To improve the spread of traffic flow in the Ward and reduce the danger to residents (especially children) who are being exposed to the current ‘rat runs’.

It seems very unfair that a couple of streets cop the burden of all the traffic flow. The reasons for closing Sewell and Hubble no longer exist, time to open them up and distribute the flow of traffic in the area.

Agreed, other streets in the area need to share some of the traffic

The one-way traffic system actively encourages people to break road rules - often I see people ignoring the no entry signs! Also causes an unfair amount of traffic on to a limited number of roads

Safety for pedestrians, shortage of parking, ease road congestion.

It’s about safety and ensuring our streets are not rat runs forever.

All streets should share the traffic
