Allow pavement gullies in Hounslow for EV charging

I haven't taken the plunge yet to EV although I would like to. This really seems like the right way to allow people like me who live in terraced houses to be able to charge at home. Which is the main barrier of entry to me.

We need more places to charge up electric cars as there’s a shortage. I wont purchase an electric car as it’s too difficult and inconvenient to charge them around where I live .

We have had an excellent electric car for 4 years. The downside is the total lack of working charge points on lampposts! We live on Strand on the Green and LBH have NOT provided any charging lamp posts on the west side of the railway bridge. When we find one in Riverview Grove etc it is occupied or invariably not working!

Convenience and cost are both major factors as we live in a terraced house with no off street parking or charging.

There is an electric charger outside our house which often doesn’t work. My mother is disabled so I have to park outside, get her into the house then drive to the nearest charging point. If I install a charger on my front garden and park outside it would be much easier.

I am writing to express strong support for introducing EV charging cable gullies across the London Borough of Hounslow, as they provide a crucial, fair solution for residents without off-street parking. Equitably expanding electric vehicle infrastructure is essential so that every household-not just those with driveways-can access affordable home-charging tariffs and participate in the green transition. Crucially, flush-fitted charging gullies present a remarkably low risk to other pavement user

No lamppost chargers on our road, and the closest ones are constantly breaking - the Council should be aiming to make EV ownership easier, not harder.

Home charging is important, on street charging is too expensive to ever be mass adopted. More expensive than petrol. All cars sold will be PHEVs, but few if any cars where no home charging exists will ever be more than a hybrid with a heavy battery.
