If we want people to embrace electric cars this needs to happen. Otherwise there is little incentive as public charging is more expensive than petrol.

This allows for cheaper home charging as well as not being hazardous for the public

Street chargers are way too expensive and cost the same as petrol if not more. It’s not right.

This is so important to drive EV adoption and keeping costs down . It’s ridiculous how much the on street charging posts cost , if gullies have been implemented and successful in other boroughs why not in Hounslow

I struggle with charging my car every day. Instead of it being a benefit it has become a source of stress. Lamp post chargers near my home are broken with no way for me to get them fixed. I now have to go to one of the rapid chargers and waste 1-2 hours every week. As a part of a little one this time is something I simply don't have.

It's incredible that Richmond next door allow it and the Hounslow council still living in dark ages or brought up to be sell outs by their parents.

Too often the lamppost chargers are not working or occupied.

As an EV owner, access to home charging is economically required to drive EV adoption amongst residents. In absence of structural solutions like this, people resort to dragging cables across pavements which is unsafe if not done with appropriate protection

The positives associated with being able to take this practical solution hugely outweigh any negatives, providing cost is kept reasonable- maybe there should also be a grant available

Much more eco friendly than converting front garden to a parking area

Lamppost charging points are too few and regularly out of action. Flexibility to charge from home is important to support uptake of more environmentally sustainable vehicles.

We are a one car household who would like to move from petrol to EV. We have no access to off-street parking and the road chat is not encouraging about the chances of finding a working street lamp charger. Even when it is working, the reported pre-payments seem extortionate. Let’s make Hounslow a leader on EV forward options for air and noise pollution reduction, as well as more convenient and economical travel.

Only 3 lamppost chargers on our street Always have cars charging on it (from other streets) Often fail and dont work Cost is astronomical compared to socket charging. We dont have a driveway Essentially hounslows infrastructure for electric cars is so poor and does not therefore align with support for renewable energy!!

It is a challenge to find a working lamp

This ability would be a huge step for our household, in the Glebe Estate and the environment.

Pavement gullies for EV charging are safe and will make it possible to affordably charge EVs from home, assisting Hounslow to move to net zero
