Having been on the other side as a female playing hockey back in a time when female leagues didn't exist (Ringette only came in 1984 & i'd already been playng 3 years of hockey by then), having the support of fellow players who saw me not as a girl, but as a hockey player who loved the game as much as they do is what really matters. His teammates want him there and penalizing him because he loves a 'girls' game, especially at this age and position, should be a non-issue. Let him play.

Any and all sports should be available for all to play regardless of gender especially since this athlete has been playing for many years, playing the game he loves and is passionate about.

I Support 1 male player per team in the ringette sport. I have no issue for a kid to play the sport he loves, even more that he’s a goalie…!

If there are no male teams, he should able to continue playing the sport he loves.

If Ringette is to be a true inclusive sport then we should allow all players on a team to play

I’ve been in the ringette community my entire life playing as a child and now watching my niece play, my daughter will eventually play when the time comes. The way the world has changed to involve gender equality there’s no reason why a male should be excluded from playing a sport he loves.

As a player who played with many male teammates in my small team where a team wasn’t viable without them and had played against many male goalies and players, a female ringette athlete parent, male support goalie ringette parent (no female goalies available so my hockey goalie stepped up to support his friends), coach of a male non-related player I support this petition.
