I believe administrators and district office personnel should regularly spend time in classrooms—whether volunteering, supporting teachers, or covering when an administrator is absent. It is difficult to make informed decisions about teaching and learning without regularly experiencing the environment those decisions directly affect. Staying connected to the classroom keeps leadership grounded in the day-to-day realities educators and students face and ensures that policies and expectations are practical, relevant, and responsive to what is actually happening on the frontlines.
Such a great idea.
