I am signing this petition because no innocent animal deserves to suffer and die in such a cruel and painful way. It is heartbreaking that this elephant was shot and reportedly left without the urgent medical care he desperately needed. The tragic death of Kawanthissa is a heartbreaking loss to Sri Lanka. We demand an independent investigation into possible negligence by wildlife veterinarians, the Department of Wildlife Conservation, and responsible government officials, including the Minister of Environment. Those found responsible must be held accountable.

The laws must change to protect our wild animals, especially tuskers. This tragedy cannot keep happening over and over again. We need a real solution before more innocent lives are lost.
Hate wanjeevi, they should have taken better care of Kavanthissa.
Like Muthu we must taken better care. Wanjeevi no use at all, close it down and open a new with a better name too.
