The responsibility and effectiveness of the Department of Wildlife Conservation and the relevant Minister are increasingly questionable, as Sri Lanka’s wildlife has been facing serious threats for a prolonged period. It is deeply concerning that these issues continue without adequate action. Urgent and effective measures must be taken to protect our wildlife and preserve our natural heritage before it is too late.
