How many more of our precious tuskers must die before this government takes responsibility? The death of Kawantissa is not just the loss of a magnificent elephant; it is a reflection of the failure of our wildlife conservation system. Sri Lanka continues to lose its precious elephants due to human-elephant conflict, negligence, and the lack of adequate veterinary facilities and qualified professionals to provide timely treatment to these innocent animals.

Kavanthissa, an innocent elephant, was shot and killed.
He suffered a painful death because of human cruelty. Those who killed him are still free.
We demand the Government and Wildlife Department conduct an immediate investigation, arrest the killers, and enforce strict action against illegal trap guns.
We cannot bring him back, but we can give him justice.
