To the Parker Colorado Mayor, Town Council and Planning Commission:
We call on the Town Council, elected representatives of Parker citizens, to reject all proposed routing of Xcel’s Pawnee to Daniels Park ultra-high-voltage long-distance transmission lines because:
- The lines may never be needed and, with dispersed energy generation and storage technology rapidly developing, they will likely be obsolete long before rate payers have finished paying for them, leaving Town residents with uncompensated and lingering depreciated home values, potential health risks, increased energy costs and the blight of underutilized lines.
- Little (if any) of the power will feed Parker homes or businesses.
- It appears Xcel has attempted to divide the community by pitting Town residents against one another to grease its way to approved routing for its financially self-serving project.
- It’s premature for Xcel to seek Town approval of routing because it is at the same time seeking Public Utility Commission (PUC) permission to begin the project earlier than previously allowed by the PUC.

Please consider the needs of the Parker residents on this corridor - not the power company.. there are other non-invasive methods to move power that will not impact us... please consider those other routes (not even a, b, c) - there are other ways to move the power - that do not impact any residents - your smart people - I know you know how... As a real estate broker with 38 years experience, I can testify that houses on power lines take longer to sell and for substantially lower prices than the same model away from power lines. These lower prices show up on appraisal and impact the value of the entire neighborhood.
The power is not needed! Xcel is trying to fund their own profits with this project. I've talked to Xcel Energy employees that have said just this.
I already have one power pole in my back yard and I am concerned that a second, ultra high voltage line will not only increase the noise factor but cause a significant health issue. And who knows what impact it will have on the property value.
This routing and planned expansion jeopardizes the health and well being of our children and families. It will greatly impact the local economy with a reduction in property values especially if the lines may never be needed due to rapidly developing dispersed energy generation and alternative storage technologies. The blight of these lines will last for decades.
Xcel should be allowed to ruin our community. They do not speak for us.
With all the profits xcel has gobbled up I think it would a great offer that they bury the wires withe some of the profits.

Why with all the advanced technology now a days would anyone want these ugly power lines anywhere near any subdivision you can see these ugly lines for miles they bring property values down as well as the potential heath concerns. Why cant they run the power lines under ground? Please keep our neighborhoods looking nice NO UGLY OVER HEAD POWER LINES!!
