Columbus is growing quickly! We have new local businesses popping up all over the place. With the opening of the whitewater course we are moving Columbus in a direction to become a real tourist destination.

One thing Columbus lacks that other cities enjoy are food trucks. We're not talking your run of the mill hotdog stand, Foodie trucks! Quality food on wheels for people who want something a little non-traditional. Currently the laws regarding food trucks are very strict and we certain people in would rather keep the hard working citizens of Columbus from experiencing the many delights these trucks offer every progressive city in the country. A recent article in the ledger sparked the debate (http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/2013/10/21/2755963/chuck-williams-the-time-has-come.html). Now its your turn to put in your two cents and make a difference!

Sign the petition expressing your desire to bring food trucks to Uptown and midtown Columbus as well as the rest of the city. These things are mobile and should be seen at every event, your office parking lot, the nightlife scene and hopefully a few designated food truck lots in the future. One thing that sets other cities apart is the communities involvement to create change! Thank you for your support, share this with your friends through any and all outlets possible if you believe in good food and Columbus!

the requirement in columbus for a stationary business address defeats the purpose of a cheap and quick way to share different foods and vendors to the city such as food trucks.

This would be a fantastic addition to friends getting together, husbands and wives grabbing a quick bite or for those who want to go out but small children limit their ability (and desire) for a sit down meal. Also, look at it as yet another way to display local musicians. I am totally in for the taste of culture.

My husband worked on one in Orlando and the quality and cleanliness couldn't be beat. I was surprised upon moving home there were no food trucks. They'd be a great addition to our communities and community events. Unless of course the city of Columbus doesn't actually want to move forward.

Food trucks offer a diverse lunch/dinner option for many people that don't like fast food and would love a healthier or more exotic choice in their food over the typical places that you can eat in downtown that are packed during the lunch hours and cause people to not have as long on their lunch breaks.

There's a really cool event happening in Columbus in a couple weeks called River Fest. Gonna be food trucks there and it will be awesome. Except the fact that all of these food trucks are coming from other towns because the laws in Columbus suck. Fix this!

I would love to see food trucks in Columbus Ga. Good competition is always good for long established business that become complacent with their food and marketing strategies.
