This petition is to gain access to the gym in the Thompson school building. The North Iowa school district already has to keep the heat turned on to keep from freezing and there are some members of the community interested in using at least the gym. Why let the entire building go to waste? There was action taken in the city of Grafton, IA to do this same thing. They now have access to the gym by key fob entry and charge a monthly fee to those who participate. That fee would cover the additional expenses to the electric/heat bill and potentially help to accumulate some small fitness equitment to stay there permanently. Please, don't let this building go to complete waste. Let's use it while we can!
