We support the resolution requested by Vice Mayor Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera of Doral, FL, we voice our support for the Cuban Refugees Detained by the Govermnet of the Bahamas,Denoucing their abuse, demanding a halt to all mistreatment, and calling for their humane treatment, requesting the U.S. deparartment of ste and the U.N. comission of Human Rights to investigate the treatment of the refugees, support ther designation as political refugees and grant them political asylum. We demand this treatment to cease and urge the public to act accordingly while this ghastly act continues to be part of the policy of the Bahamas. We urge the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to reconsider their treatment to their detainees and practice the United Nations policy of human rights.
The growth of this petition reached a threshold that warrants an immediate review of our strategy. I am currently coordinating with legal counsel to finalize the submission package for the U.N. Commission on Human Rights.

They are political refugees not prisoners. The US gov should have done something about this months ago.

My heart breaks for these families. Nobody deserves to be locked up and abused when they are just looking for a safe place to live.

This is just sad. People are literally running for their lives and they get treated like criminals. Stop the abuse now.

UN needs to step in immediately. What is happening in the Bahamas is shameful and needs to stop.
