Every year, thousands upon thousands of rattlesnakes in Oklahoma alone are captured and tortured for entertainment. Hunting for food and population management is one thing, but the treatment of these animals is no different from dog or cockfighting. The challenge with snake conservation is always convincing people to get past the negative stigma with animals that we have been raised to fear. Please remember that all animals should be treated with respect and regarded not as products, but as fellow inhabitants of this planet. Thank you for signing this petition and doing your part to end these atrocious and barbaric acts against these beautiful creatures.
I really never thought this would gain this much steam since most people just see these animals as pests. It feels surreal knowing so many of you actually care about their lives and want to stop the cruelty. This energy is wild and honestly I have no idea where we go from here but I am definitely not stopping now.

This is just sick. I dont care if people are scared of them they have a right to live without being tortured for some backwoods festival. Stop the madness.
