We, the undersigned, express our concern that the Iraqi religious authorities (Shi'a Wakf) have once again asserted their claim that the ancient Jewish shrine of the Prophet Ezekiel at Kifl, near Baghdad, is Muslim. Precious Hebrew inscriptions and decoration have already been erased.
We urge that UNESCO and western governments and organisations take action immediately to stop the Wakf from converting the shrine, which attracted thousands of Jewish pilgrims through the ages, into a Mosque.

Please give us fair treatment and do not allow this travesty of justice!! Both Iraqis and those from other countries should be able to enjoy visiting this genuine heritage site where Ezekiel was buried.

I was born in Baghdad in 1930. I left in Dec. 1949. My family and I used to visit reguarly the tomb of EZekeil during Shavuot festival. UNICEF need to preserve Ezekiel Tomb as a historical monument of my Jewish ancestry.
UNESCO has do what it is supposed to do which is to preserve heritage sites under proper culture ownership, not steal heritage sites and proclaim they belong to another culture or religion! It is unconscionable. It must stop.
