We, the undersigned, condemn the illegal, provocative and immoral desecration of the Temple Mount - Judaism's holiest site and one of the most ancient in the Middle East - by the 'Waqf' Islamic authorities. We further condemn the Waqf's efforts to deny Jewish and other non-Muslim visitors their basic human right to visit and worship freely on the Temple Mount. Illegal digging and wanton destruction have destroyed priceless historical remnants of Jerusalem’s Jewish history. Jewish worshippers are discriminated against and harassed on a regular basis by the Waqf, and the Palestinian Authority continues its slanderous and provocative denial of the Jewish connection and right to Jerusalem. We call for an end to discrimination, desecration and the callous 'cultural vandalism' of non-Muslim heritage by Islamists on the Temple Mount. Such sinister and illegal efforts are part of a wider campaign by extreme Islamists, from the Waqf to the Taliban, to create political realities on the ground by erasing all traces of non-Muslim heritage and history via illegal means. We demand that the UN, EU and world governments take active steps to stop the desecration of a site revered by 3 of the world's major religions. There can be no peace in the Middle East until the religious and cultural heritage of the region's non-Arab and non-Muslim inhabitants are recognised, respected and protected.
