As one of three libraries in Glendale, AZ, the Foothills Branch Library is an epicenter for the general public to educate themselves at no cost.
The library has a unique layout for youth and families, with many features to include a children's library, two study rooms, and a drive-thru service for the needs of the disabled. It is a vital component to our cities infrastructure.
Furthermore, it reinforces our family values and encourages social stratification in our community. It's presence devalues discrimination against minorities, disabled, and the poverty-stricken.
Most importantly, the City of Glendale needs to keep the library at its current location. (19055 N. 57th Avenue, 85308). It provides our community with the ability to keep our residents engaged with the neighboring college not to mention, their students with the community.
Regardless of Midwestern University’s financial incentives, we must stand against diminishing our already sparse public facilities. It makes little sense to project a financial incentive on one of the public’s more reputable libraries. Even recent calculations dictate more loss than gain.
Our Mayor is awaiting recommendations from the Library Advisory Board, the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Arts Commission. We need them to see we need this library.

Chihuly's work is featured around the world. Please don't sell one of the few elegant, classy things about Glendale. Please vote to keep the entire complex -- Skunk Creek path, Library, ball parks, FRAC, skate park, dog parks -- intact and a treasure for Glendale. Arrowhead residents don't take this for granted.
It would be foolish of the city to sell tha Foothis Library at a loss while reducing the total square footage to under 1,000. The city needs more library space, not less. If they want to sell something, why not City Hall?
Our Foothills Library has been a wonderful resource for generations. I used it as an adult, my children used it and now my grand children are using it. Selling the Foothills Library and downsizing the many, many wonderful hard copy books would be a real disservice to the tax paying residents of Glendale. We voted for it - leave it where it is!!!!!!
My daughter is an avid reader because of the Foothills Library! It started with mother/daughter time as a baby and it continued. She now drives to her library to do research and checkout books!
This library is vital to the arrowhead community and surrounding neighborhoods. Losing it will only further drive a wedge in teaching our children what a real book is and seeing the joy in my children in finding real books to pick out to bring home and read. Relocating
I am absolutely against the "relocation" of the Glendale Foothills library. The library is one of the main reasons I live in Glendale and the new proposal shortchanges the library, the rec center, and the people of Glendale.
Libraries are sacred.

As the first Library Operations Supervisor at Foothills, I find this whole selling situation ludicrous. This library serves the Glendale citizens, and should continue to serve them at their present location. Relocating the library to the Aquatic center is a total disservice to the Glendale citizens. Please save this library!
