THE CHEVY CHASE LIBRARY
On May 11, 2011, the Glendale Public Library proposed transferring management of the Chevy Chase branch to Community Services and Parks to develop it as a community center and rental venue, and maintain a “minimal library presence.”
We, the undersigned, strongly urge the City Council to preserve the Chevy Chase Branch as a library, and to reject this proposed transfer and continued efforts to dismantle our valuable community resource.

I was just at the branch earlier and the quiet in there felt so heavy because the books are basically the only thing keeping the whole soul of the neighborhood afloat. People keep sending me messages about how they learned to read in those chairs and honestly it makes me want to scream at the council members until they actually listen to us.

bad idea. people actually use that branch for research and reading. dont turn it into a rental hall.
This is ridiculous. We need a library not another rental venue for parties. Stop cutting our services.
We need the books more than a community center. Chevy Chase needs this place.
my kids have been going to this library for years. taking it away hurts this whole neighborhood. please leave it alone!
KEEP THE LIBRARY OPEN!!!!!!! So sick of the city trying to save a buck by shutting down important stuff for the kids.
