Final supporters
After relinquishing Junior to AC, the owner contacted A Passion for Paws Akita Resuce and Akita Angels in California asking for help. We immediately contacted them and are working non-stop to save Junior's life. Bottom line: The rescue groups have NO legal recourse to intervene and stop his death on August 15.
The owner has the sole and full legal right to request return of her dog and as of 8pm this evening, has not filed that form wtih the Tri-City Animal Control in Fremont.UPDATE: JUNIOR HAS OBTAINED LEGAL COUNSEL... The phone calls to animal control are going unanswered today but we have lawyers looking into the paperwork requirements now. I am honestly exhausted from all this back and forth because it feels like every minute counts with a dog like Junior whose life is just hanging by a thread.

My Akita is the sweetest dog I ever had. Breeds get a bad rap because of bad owners. Save Junior!
Stop the killing. Fremont Animal Control needs to step up and let the experts assess him.
THATS A GOOD DOG DONT KILL HIM OVER ONE MISTAKE PEOPLE PROVOKE ANIMALS ALL THE TIME
so sad. hope he gets to go to a rescue instead.
This is so heartbreaking. Please give this poor boy a second chance at life.
